HELLO & WELCOME TO OUR LITTLE BLOG!
We're PALACE, a young five piece alternative rock band from the UK. We have a wide range of influences, which affect us as a band and as individuals. For the past how ever many months we have been constantly writing, recording, gigging, basically living and breathing our band, and as time passes we're really starting to find a sound we can collectively call our own, which we are very happy and very comfortable with.
In January 2012 we self released our first group of demos entitled "Apology In Demand" FOR FREE! The four tracks consist of "St.Albans (Things We Used To Do)", "Indications", "And Everyone Else" and a bonus track which we also self released in November 2011: "Collapse".
All of the tracks on Apology in Demand have been written and recorded in our practice garage or bedrooms, on an BOSS 8-track recorder. With a big help from our guitarists big brother - Mark Cowley (who recorded, mixed & mastered all of our tracks) we managed to produce our first Demos: Apology In Demand.
This month we've had a lot of attraction for the demos, from weird places and wonderful people; an Australian videographer, Brett Trigg, asked if he could use our track "And Everyone Else" for his latest bmx video he'd been shooting for an Australian company called FIST Handwear: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n8neSEcJSp0, the video has now achieved over 37,000 views already! Which obviously we think is incredible and has of course done us a huge favour in getting us more exposurehas, and has really made us open our eyes and want to push the band as best as we can!
More recently, a few days ago we were messaged by the editor of Switzerlands leading popculture magazine, "Rockstar" notifying us that we had a feature in their latest issue, on the same page as the white stripes, the ting tings and crystal castles. Which again is insane and we are soooo made up! Great things just keep on happening for us and we really hope it wont stop.
Although Apology in Demand is very well for it is, we're constantly reminding our selves that it's only our first group of demos, and the very first starting point of our band, and even though There seems to be a lot happening for us and a lot of fuss surrounding us at the moment, we know that we're still just a small time band from the north of England, and we're a long way from big things happening to us, we havent even been together for a year! But its certainly starting to feel like something will, and our hard work and dreams are paying off! We know that we can't stop for a second because it's so hard to stay popular and to keep on top of your game and everyone's interests in this 'business', so we're constantly writing and talking about what more we can do and what the next move is and whats right for us. The new material is coming on really nicely and the way we want it to, we're so excited about it. We all know we have so much to come from us, we're constantly developing and growing as people and as a band, you can really tell in our music and we can't wait to show you!
A lot of exciting things are happening and the way things are going we think we should have details on on a first official EP out in the summer/autumn of this year, which we're totally excited for.
